2012-03-03 Serial egg collector gets ASBO for crimes against nature.
Matthew Gonshaw, a
serial egg collector, of Bow, London, has become
the first person in England
to receive an Anti-Social Behaviour Order [ASBO] for crimes against nature.
He is not allowed
to visit Scotland or any of
the RSPB and Wildlife
Trust Lands
for the next ten years. He could receive a £20,000 fine and a
five-year jail term for breaking the conditions of the ASBO.
Gonshaw is
currently serving his fourth prison sentence for egg collecting and currently
holds the record in the UK
for the person who has spent the most time in prison for these crimes.
He has plundered
hundreds of birds' nests including some of the rarest birds in the UK, such as Golden
Eagle, Osprey, Avocet, Red Kite and Peregrine Falcon. |
