2012-11-14 SAVE OUR FROGS DAY!
South Africa’s First National Awareness Day for Frogs,
1 December 2012
Aspiring
princesses beware! We are very quickly running out of frogs to kiss!
Frogs are among the most threatened species on Earth. These creatures of
popular folklore are teetering on the brink of extinction and unless we
act NOW to save them, South Africa will start losing species. In an
effort to bring these very important and beautiful amphibians back from
the brink of extinction the EWT will be holding a Save Our Frogs Day on
the 1st Of December 2012.
The
aim of Save Our Frogs Day is to bring awareness to this highly
threatened group of animals and highlight conservation needs. There will
be various events taking place around the country.
Jeanne Tarrant, Manager of the EWT’s Threatened Amphibian’s Programme,
will be speaking at two events on the day. Please also contact Jeanne to
find out how you can do your part to Save our Frogs!
