Aves Arid Tour / Safari / Adventure.

The southern Kalahari is not a ?true? desert with its red dunes, yellow grass and dry riverbeds lined with gnarled Acacia trees which gives it a wonderful atmosphere. The tour / Safari includes four Important Bird Areas: -

  • Benfontein Game Farm
  • Dronfield Farm
  • Kamfers Dam
  • Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park

Benfontein Game Farm has breeding White-backed Vulture, Blue Crane and Blue Korhaan. The plains hold Ludwig?s Bustard, Orange River Francolin, Burchell?s Courser and Pink-billed Lark.

Dronfield Farm holds White-backed Vulture, Kalahari Scrub-Robin, Crimson-breasted Shrike and Scaly-feathered Finch.

Kamfers Dam for exceptional numbers and diversity of water birds. Greater Flamingo, breeding Lesser Flamingo, Black-necked Grebe and Chestnut-banded Plover.

Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park is a vast wilderness area of 3,6 million hectares. It is best known for it?s diversity and abundance of Raptors.
